I created a range of design drafts for the cover of Kingdom of the Wicked before I settled on one specific cover. From these designs, you will be able to see that from some of my rejected front covers, I was able to take pieces that I still loved and put them into other sections of the book.

As you might be able to see, I really liked the snake, flowers and moon design, so wanted to implement that into the endpapers of the book as it would not be on the cover.

I went through a range of designs for the hard cover foil. I wanted to experiment with a range of complex and bold designs to find which I thought worked best.

Finding a chapter header that would not just fit around the first chapter but also words like 'Prologue' was a challenge which meant some of my more expanded designs had to be discounted, meaning the final one had to be slightly more basic.
