Brief: To redesign the cover of the popular fantasy book Kingdom of the Kicked by Kerri Maniscalco.
The phrase ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ is definitely one ignored in the modern age. Cover design is a fundamental part of why people pick up the books that they do. And I feel that for the thousands of readers Kingdom of the Wicked has, they need a new cover that will entice the New Adult target audience by making it appealing and exciting to own.
I have created a newly designed hard cover, dust jacket, end pages, chapter headers and the advertising materials that will go along with it such as social media posts and public transport posters. The book would be sold exclusively at the UK retailer Waterstones, who ship all over the world and already have a reputation for beautiful exclusive editions.
I have done a lot of intense research into the components that make up a fantasy book cover as well as looking into the specific important imagery that could be incorporated into the cover.

This project included:
